My passion as a therapist is to walk alongside people during life’s challenges—whether it’s addiction, trauma, loss, or relationship struggles—and help them move forward with hope, clarity, and purpose. I believe real healing happens when we address the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—and I aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where growth and transformation can take root.
I specialize in working with individuals and couples dealing with sex addiction, betrayal trauma, codependency, self-esteem issues, anger, spiritual concerns, and grief. I also enjoy supporting people through life transitions, family of origin work, and premarital counseling. My approach is collaborative and grounded in a mix of psychodynamic insight, cognitive-behavioral strategies, client-centered connection, and trauma-informed care.
Credentials and Training I received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Trinity International University and became a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois in 2006. I’m a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT), and a candidate for Certified Couples Betrayal Recovery Therapist (CCBRT). I’m also Level II EMDR trained for trauma treatment, and a facilitator for both Prepare/Enrich and SYMBIS for engaged and married couples.
Experience I’ve been counseling clients since 1996, and spent 16 years at Meier Clinics before transitioning into private practice. My work spans both inpatient and outpatient settings, and I’ve had the privilege of helping men and women grow in emotional resilience, relational health, and personal integrity. I especially enjoy helping men reclaim their sense of purpose and self-worth.
About Me Outside of counseling, I’m a family man—married since 1996 with two grown children. In my free time, you’ll find me hiking, playing guitar, landscaping, reading, enjoying films, or skiing in the mountains when I get the chance.
